Between two Horizons
A book of poems
by Prabal Pramnik
Break forth
Break forth O' light,
Break forth through oppressive gloom.
This dark and uncertain sky,
Is life with day to day pressures.
Pressures that mount by days,
By hours, by moments
Let me sustain O' light,
Thy message of Eternity,
Let me accept O' light
Thy deepest wisdom,
Wisdom through pain and sorrow.
Through moments of despair and darkness,
Yet as pure and strong as a flash of the light.
sublime poetry....
Employing picturesque photographs of the village Bhamlada in Himalayan foothills taken by
Arup Chandra the verses explore the deeper meaning of life if life has a greater
significance than just being alive. Sure enough Prabal does believe there is and seeks it.
Between two horizons I stand, stretching out my hand to feel my own
perimeter.

Prabal Pramanik is an artist noted for his works in visual arts, He has
also written several books on art and poetry.
This book allows the reader to enjoy the world of an artist, in expressions that come
through his pen, yet flowing with the ease of painting in free brush strokes.
The aspirations, of a creative soul reaching out for the ultimate and accepting life only
in terms of eternity, neither caring for social taboos or established values of material
success find poetic forms.
The reproductions of colour works and pen and ink drawings are from art works of Prabal
Pramanik
From an artist's pen
Let a sheet of paper flat and white,
Hold all the promise of world so true,
Let a line mark the meeting place,
Of eternal sea and sky so blue.
Days and nights on paper sheet,
Hold time a prisoner in brush strokes free,
Through that paper sheet builds up
The bond that holds infinite for me.

The Promise
The Ocean that rages in me,
Choppy and foamy with restless spumes,
The heaving stormy sea.
The leaden watery way,
Seems to stretch forever,
In dark and dismal day.
Clouds that pile up so high,
Hanging in deep depression,
Wipes all that's far and nigh.
Even in the deep dark day,
Languish as I may,
I remember the sun that shines,
Beyond the curtains of grey.
When sunshine flows in
Rays of gold,
Crowning the clouds
Weary and old,
And overflows
The life's canvas
In streaks that send
New hope.
